The Tax Gazebo ("we," "I," "the site") is operated by Emily Mantle, CPA, CA, through Compass CPA Professional Corporation, based in Sudbury, Ontario. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and your choices. Questions? Email emily@compasscpa.ca.
What we collect. If you subscribe to BEARINGS or download a resource, we collect your email address (and name, if you provide it). If you email or send a question through the site, we keep the contents of that message. We also see aggregate, privacy-friendly analytics (page views, general location, referrer) that don't identify you personally.
Why we collect it. To send you the newsletter and content you asked for, to respond to your questions, and to understand what's useful so we can improve. We rely on your consent — you subscribed — and you can withdraw it anytime.
Your consent & unsubscribing (CASL). Every email includes an unsubscribe link; one click stops all newsletter email. You can also email us to be removed.
Who we share it with. We don't sell or rent your information. It's processed by the services that run this site — our publishing platform Ghost and its email-delivery provider — solely to operate the newsletter and site. We may disclose information if required by law.
Your rights (PIPEDA). You can ask to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email emily@compasscpa.ca and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Data retention & security. We keep subscriber information only as long as you're subscribed or as needed for the purposes above, and we take reasonable measures to protect it. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Cookies. The site uses minimal, essential cookies. Our analytics are designed to be privacy-friendly and do not track you across other websites.
Changes. We may update this policy; the "last updated" date will change accordingly.
